OpenAI announced on 9 March that it will acquire Promptfoo, an AI security platform focused on identifying and remediating vulnerabilities in AI systems during development.
The company said Promptfoo’s technology will be integrated into OpenAI Frontier, its platform for building and operating AI coworkers.
Security testing is becoming a central concern for agents because they may act across tools, files, browsers and internal systems, creating more failure modes than ordinary chat.
Sourcing note: Acquisition intent and integration plans are from OpenAI. Deal completion and product integration timelines may change.
