Microsoft said Copilot's agentic capabilities in Word, Excel and PowerPoint were generally available as the default experience for eligible Microsoft 365 users.
The shift matters because Office is not a niche software surface. When AI features become default inside documents, spreadsheets and presentations, the everyday unit of work changes from command-and-edit to brief-and-revise.
