The European Commission published the General-Purpose AI Code of Practice on 10 July 2025, setting out a voluntary compliance tool for providers of general-purpose AI models under the EU AI Act.
The code focuses on legal obligations around transparency, copyright and systemic-risk management. It was developed with independent experts and is designed to help providers demonstrate compliance as the AI Act's GPAI rules begin to apply.
