FDA Approves Belzutifan With Pembrolizumab After Kidney Cancer Surgery
The FDA approved belzutifan plus pembrolizumab as adjuvant treatment for certain clear cell renal cell carcinoma patients at elevated risk of recurrence after nephrectomy, with overall-survival data still immature.

The FDA approved belzutifan in combination with pembrolizumab on 12 June as adjuvant treatment for adults with renal cell carcinoma with a clear cell component at intermediate-high or high risk of recurrence after nephrectomy, or after nephrectomy and resection of metastatic lesions.
The approval is tied to LITESPARK-022, a phase 3 trial evaluating Welireg with Keytruda in the post-surgical setting. Merck said the combination reduced the risk of disease recurrence, metastasis or death by 28% compared with pembrolizumab-based treatment alone.
